June 4th Euro Elections and thoughts

I was having a stroll though my locality yesterday when I noticed a public declaration, by way of several laminated bits of card, on what parties are standing in the region for the European Elections next month.

It was interesting to see that most of the parties on the list are right wing, or near as damn-it. Besides the Tories (yes, I know, but for tradition's sake we'll call them of the right) there are loads more. UKIP, BNP, Libertas, The Christian Party (per-*******-leeeease!) and English Democrats.

Around the centre, there's the Lib Dems and an interesting outfit called 'Jury Team'.

And on the scum bag left there's Labour (urgh, I feel ill), the Greens (sad), the Socialist Labour Party (led by Arthur 'only got 200 votes in the 2001 election' Scargill) and a ridiculous far-left wing, anti-EU outfit called 'No2EU'. A party who only catches my eye because of the infuriating use of 'txt msg speak' in the title.

I've done some research on the lesser known outfits here. It is clear that all of these parties are total and utter ****, run by **** heads who's main task is to prevent everything from imploding through pathetic infighting. UKIP for instance is like Pakistan - in a permanent state of civil war and disintegration. The BNP has two public figures outside of Griffin, and this is for a reason - they are the only two people in the party with sufficient intelligence to use a PC and enunciate a coherent sentence without being drenched in the spittle of widespread mirth.

Libertas is basically UKIP, except with the selling point that they are cleaner and less dodgy on expenses etc. Which is hilarious, as one can't help but ask why Libertas people are any less venal and self-serving as anyone else.

BNP, Christians...meh. Who cares. Both nasty fascist outfits after power and the tools to impress their shitty world vision on everyone else.

Socialist Labour is brilliant, because it's like watching a footballer you don't like get old and go off to play for 2nd division or non league sides. For instance, if you hated Gazza, you'd probably have paid to go and see him puff about the pitch at Boston United. Scargill is a ****, but at least while he's doing this lark, he's not in charge of an incredibly powerful union with the ability to destroy the country.

The Greens are utterly insane, and think they will be able to govern the country by whacking up some wind turbines, saying no to Nuclear and being kind to animals. This is all good for a hoot, but do we want them getting a tenth of the vote again like they did in '89? Probably not.

No2Eu can **** off. Loony union prick ********. It's bad enough I have to deal with people like this when I engage in my own union. Yes, I try to vote out the socialist freaks but it's no good, as a major Whitehall department staffed by fat lefties has the whip hand in the voting stakes. So sensible people like me are resigned to deal with their petty little point scoring exercises.

There is one outfit that particularly caught my eye, and for several reasons:

English Democrats are an outfit I have not heard of before this election campaign. Their website is spectacularly bad. Their 'campaign' is non existent, unless you include one flyer. And most of all, their policies are depressing in their malformation. They want to properly deal with the West Lothian Question - fair enough, sounds good right? Except they'd do this by setting up an 'English First Minister, government and Parliament with at least the same powers as the Scottish ones!'

Exclamation mark theirs.

Except, there's one glaring error here. We already have a parliament, it's called WESTMINSTER. And by setting up a government, I take it to mean 'get elected'. Yeah, we got that bit, thanks. And as for English First Minister, er, you mean the PM?

And the best bit 'at least the same powers as the Scottish ones!'. You mean, less power than we would have now then?

They could make all this sound so much easier and realistic if they simply proposed to break up the Union, or devolve power to the other parts of the union in order to break the rules concerning Scottish MPs voting on English issues.

The fact this party hasn't grasped even the basics of politics shows what a hilariously bad tin pot outfit they are. It's a shame, as the right sentiment is there it's just backed up by stupidity.

Another policy of this stupid party is to close quangos that promote political correctness and to repeal PC laws. I have tried to find out more on this policy, to no avail. So I presume the policy is actually as stupid as it sounds.

Well here's the question: what or who can possibly be accurately defined as PC and why would closing down an organisation possibly be the answer? If you took this argument to the logical degree, it would entail closing down the vast majority of the mechanisms of the State. It would also mean tremendous arguments on what laws are PC and promote PC.

This policy is so daft and ill-thought out, there are probably some Mail readers out there who would raise a questionable eye brow at it all. And that's saying something, because Mail readers are retarded, moronic *****.

On the EU, this outfit proposes to get the UK to quit the EU, and then rejoin the European Free Trade Association. Well, if only it could be that easy. There's one snag with this plan: politics. It simply wouldn't be allowed to play out that way. It's the political equivalent to having your cake and eating it. But we can all be dreamers.

The sad thing is, I share a right leaning perspective on most of these issues, except what would be refreshing is that thing called 'use of brain'. I also don't like being patronised, taken for a mug and scaremongered. Read: I wouldn't vote BNP even under pain of torture. I have pride.

So who is it going to be, seeing as the LPUK have depressingly chosen not to contest this election in my region?

Is it going to be UKIP?

So far, the weather vane is tipping that way

=================================================

You may like to educate this guy, he clearly does not understand the concept of an English Parliament
